ADVANCED SECONDARY SCHOOL

LOWER SECONDARY SCHOOL
In the new lower secondary curriculum from senior 1 to 4, learners are expected to take the following subjects:

At Kawempe Muslim Secondary School, learners study as set of core subjects and choose from a range of elective subjects that allow them to follow their own interests and to specialize in particular areas.

A. Modern ICT Hub
One of the school’s standout features is its commitment to digital literacy.
- ICT Club & Lab: In June 2025, the school launched an official ICT Club in partnership with the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) and KAWA Uganda.
- Technical Skills: The facility includes a dedicated computer maintenance section where students learn hardware troubleshooting and software installation.
B. Science Laboratories
To maintain its status as a top-performing science school in Butambala, Kibibi provides:
- Fully Equipped Labs: Separate specialized laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- Practical Learning: These spaces are designed for the “Activities of Integration” required by the new curriculum, allowing students to conduct experiments that link theory to real-world problems.
C. Sports and Recreation
Kibibi is a major center for community and school sports.
- Kibibi Secondary Playground: This is a prominent venue in the district and was even selected as a host venue for the 2025 Buganda Masaza Cup football matches.
- Diverse Sports: Beyond the football pitch, the school supports netball, athletics, and volleyball.
D. Boarding & Campus Life
- Dormitories: Separate, spacious residential wings for boys and girls. The school recently introduced a digital management system (Akademik IT) to streamline boarding, academic, and financial operations.
- School Mosque: A central facility for daily prayers (Salah) and spiritual guidance, reflecting the school’s Islamic foundation.
- Main Hall: A multi-purpose hall used for the famous Music, Dance, and Drama (MDD) competitions, as well as general assemblies and examinations.
E. Academic Resource Center
- Library: A quiet research environment stocked with textbooks for both the old and new curricula, as well as reference materials for A-Level research projects.
